Self-Contained Irradiators

Our self-contained irradiators are fully shielded and do not need any additional shielding.  They are relatively small and do not require much laboratory space. Systems are available for instrument calibration, R&D, and other applications.

Box calibrators are fully-shielded, self-contained irradiator systems requiring no separate control room. Compact and easy-to-use, box calibrators provide convenient and versatile calibration of a wide range of radiation survey meters and personnel dosimeters.

Many calibration laboratories are challenged by an increasing workload and dwindling resources. The Hopewell Designs model BX3 Box Calibrator can help by automating many time consuming daily tasks. The fully automated BX3, uses the modular LabVIEW software and is computer controlled with touch screen technology. Irradiator set-up and calibration, exposure rate and decay corrections are all done with a touch of the screen.

Ease-of-use is a high priority in our BX3 design. Features include a large door (16” x 15”) and oversized leaded glass-viewing window (10.5” x 16.5”). The Model BX3 is equipped with a precise, rigid, dual-axis linear positioning track that provides amazing accuracy (+/- 0.1 mm). Instrument placement is easy and repeatable using jigs, etched grid, and dowels on the instrument platform. Versatility of the Model BX3 is enhanced by the use of single or dual sources from 300 mCi to 2200 Ci, dual axis positioning track and ports for extendable probes. With its fail-safe design, redundant interlocking and password-protected software, the Hopewell Designs Model BX3 Box Calibrator exceeds all federal, state and local government regulations and provides a safe, secure, easy-to-use system that will increase efficiency and accuracy.

The Model DI-10C is a complete irradiator system that provides beta/gamma calibration checks of the Thermo
Fisher Scientific MK2 and/or TruDose EPDs. With an intuitive, easy to use control system, it is a very capable,
but simple system to use. A carousel holding up to 10 EPDs is loaded in the DI-10C. The system then
automatically processes all EDPs and displays the results
