Doubly encapsulated and hermetically sealed in a stainless steel holder Fully surrounded by lead in the shielded position Tungsten shielding above and below the source limit axial radiation Pneumatic exposure control mechanism Stainless steel and tungsten control rod Position continuously monitored by sensors on the pneumatic system Source transit time (shielded to exposed / exposed to shielded) approximately one second
Shielded Enclosure
Steel encased lead 12" (30 cm) diameter by 10" (25 cm) height Exposure rate less than 5 mR/hr at 12" from the shield surface Shield is a certified DOT-7A shipping container

Constructed of low density, low scatter material Racks for mounting dosimetry at 30, 40, 50, and 60 cm Motor-driven at 3 RPM (Run / Stop control on Control Panel)
